God is stirring His people....
By Linda Wurzbacher on 5/26/2009 6:07 PM

I am feeling so excited and encouraged for women pastors and church planters.  The wind is shifting.  The tide is turning.  God is moving and is ready to raise His Christ-Driven Women up to new levels in this country very SOON!

I've had some very awesome email conversations in the past several weeks with pastors Shaun King, Dave Ferguson, Steve Sjogren, Ed Stetzer.  They are all such awesome men of God and all incredibly humble. (Even if they are all in different places in their views on women's roles in the church.)

I heard Dave Ferguson's church is calling their first female campus pastor!  Yeah Dave!  And Shaun King blatently stated that he thinks it's a sin for anyone not to allow women pastors!  (There's a link to his blog from my twitter.)

There suddenly seems to be more and more male pastors ta ...

We need your VOTE!
By Linda Wurzbacher on 5/20/2009 3:17 PM

Hey Friends!

The BHCC band has entered the Kingdom Bound 2009 Talent Competition.  They decided to enter the brand new worship song they wrote titled:  "EVERYTHING!" It's a great way of getting the name of our church out there!  And besides that, they thought it would be a great fun thing to do!

The BHCC team NEEDS your support though.  We need you to go the Kingdom Bound link below and VOTE for the BHCC band!

Only those with enough votes go to the next round in the competion so show them your support for all their hard work and go VOTE for them!  Forward this to your friends and family and get their help as well.  You can listen to the song again on the site as well!

Great Interview!
By Linda Wurzbacher on 5/13/2009 7:33 AM

Great Interview that Steve Sjogren did with Mike Slaughter! I think this is awesome advice for any pastor:

It's so NOT about attendance and numbers.  It so IS ABOUT building the Kingdom of God for Christ.  Don't underestimate the importance of YOUR impact!  It's not about you! :-)

Where are all the women church planters?
By Linda Wurzbacher on 4/25/2009 4:10 PM

Yeahhhh...finally SOMEONE is asking the question, where are all the women church planters?  Halleluiah!  Thank you Dave Ferguson!!! You Rock!

Check out Anne Jackson's blog that asks and get answers to this question!

I checked out many of the responses and found few that turned out truly started by a woman senior pastor as opposed to being a couple or a team member starting one.  There is a difference. But I'm excited and hoping to connect ...

Conversations...
By Linda Wurzbacher on 4/21/2009 1:35 PM
I had an interesting conversation via facebook email with Ed Stetzer the last few days. (Google his name if you don't know who he is.) He is currently speaking at a church planters conference in Orlando. I told him I wasn't sure where he stood on the issue of women pastors (although I suspected based on where he went to seminary :-) so I asked him. He told me he's a 'complimentarian.' In case you're unfamiliar with that word, here is one definition: Complementarianism is the theological view that although men and women are created equal in their being and personhood, yet they are created to complement each other via different roles in life and in the church. It is rooted in a literal interpretation of the creation account and the roles of men and women presented in Scripture. In other words, no, he doesn't believe women should be pastors. I was disappointed because he I greatly admired his research & books. He was quite gracious to continue a few emails with me however. I asked him quest ...

Church Planting Women ARISE!
By Linda Wurzbacher on 4/20/2009 4:55 PM

I am proof that God does indeed call women and absolutely compel them to become church planters.

It was never my idea to be a church planter.  I did not (in the flesh) want to do this at all!  I even felt a little angry at God in the beginning for MAKING me do this. (sigh)

I was finally at a place in my writing ministry where editors were calling me and asking me for articles.  That only came after many years of rejection letters and tears from having my articles turned down.  But I didn't give up.  I kept writing and God blessed my efforts.
